25 Jan 2008 New Year - New Face
 | | We are pleased and excited to announce that former BTCC and Clio Cup racer, Charlie Butler-Henderson is the new face of Race Star. Charlie will be presenting and commentating on the 2008 Race Star competition and helping to select the eventual winner. Charlie will bring his racing experience, knowledge and humour to your screens throughout the 2008 season by presenting the Race Star - Behind the Scenes show following the DSR teams fortunes in the 2008 Clio Cup Championship..
Commenting on Race Star, Charlie says "I think the scholarship is a brilliant idea at getting beginners and up and coming racing drivers on the saloon ladder, knowing how sponsorship is hard to come by these days, this is a very fair way of getting people started to help their dreams come true".
I have been racing since the age of 7, 9 years of karts, then working my way up through the single seater ladder, then moving across to the British G2 route racing a Marcos, I then raced in the Renault Clio championship in 2003 and finally ending my career in British touring cars 2004. Once reaching my dream of touring cars happened I decided to change career and now work as a race driving instructor and TV Presenter.
Lisa Nelson, the Scholarship Co-Ordinator commented "The team are so excited about the fact that Charlie will be the face of the scholarship. We have brought so many more changes to the scholarship this year and we consider that having Charlie on board is another bonus. Having teamed up with a national production company, ADI, we know that this year's TV show is going to be much more entertaining than the last. We cannot wait to start working with them both."
Race Star will be coming to your screens soon. Details will be posted on the www.RacingScholarship.com and www.RaceStar.tv web sites shortly. |
